'The Strongest of the Strange' (2002-2005)

‘The Strongest of the Strange’,  Pontus’ eerste video, had direct een grote impact op de skatewereld. De film toont zijn geboortestad Malmö en de D.I.Y scène (met al zijn vrienden), die het tempo van D.I.Y in Europa op gang bracht. De video werkte inspirerend en gaf veel mensen de kans en energie om iets voor zichzelf te maken.
Van de donkere omgeving van Mongolië tot fragmenten met Scott Bourne. ‘The Strongest of the Strange’, is een moderne klassieker en biedt een enorme verscheidenheid aan vormen van skaten en skaters. De inbreng van Pontus’ is erg aantrekkelijk en ontroerend; het verlies van zijn vader en zijn leven, zet je net zo zeer aan het denk als het je aanzet om te gaan skaten.

‘The Strongest of the Strange’ (2002-2005), was Pontus’ first video that he made and it took the skate world by storm. It showcased his hometown of Malmo and its D.I.Y scene (with all of his friends) that was really setting the pace of D.I.Y in Europe. The video really insopired and empowered a lot of people to get of their backsides and make something for themselves. From the bleak settings of Mongolia to a Scott Bourne section, ‘The Strongest of the Strange’ holds such a variety of skating and skaters – all with Pontus’ creative stamp on the production – that it’s surely a modern classic. His own part is very evocative and moving, dealing with the loss of his father and his life, this part makes you think as much as it makes you want to skate.
