Since 1 January 2016, Stichting SCHUNCK* (the ‘SCHUNCK* foundation’) has been registered for tax purposes as a charitable incorporated organisation, in Dutch, Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI). In compliance with the guidelines for such organisations, issued on 1 January 2014, we are obliged to publish the following details:

The foundation has the following objectives:
a. to provide knowledge and information in general, to offer opportunities for development and education, and to promote reading.
b. the dissemination and stimulation of knowledge of, interest in and participation in art and culture, in the widest sense of the word, through: media and literature, visual art, design, architecture, cultural heritage, music, dance and amateur art in (the municipality of) Heerlen and surroundings.

The Supervisory Board currently comprises:
Mr E. Zijlstra (chair), Ms Nicolette Bartelink (artistic matters) and Ms Saskia van der Laak (legal matters).
The members of the Supervisory Board do not receive any financial remuneration for their work, except for reimbursement of their expenses and holiday pay.
The staff and management are paid in conformity with the collective agreement for museum staff. This can be downloaded here (in Dutch).
2016 Was the first year that Stichting SCHUNCK* operated as an independent organisation. A great deal of effort was made towards the successful implementation of new systems for the financial and payroll administration. As part of the organisational separation from the municipality of Heerlen, a great deal of technical and financial matters had to be settled.
