November is the month of Heel Nederland Leest (All of the Netherlands Reads). And what could be better than getting completely lost in a good book? Exactly — nothing. Yet sometimes screens and busy schedules get in the way of reading. Sound familiar? Want to read more anyway? Come to the Silent Reading Party and finally dive into that book you’ve been meaning to read for so long. This time, we’ll be reading together in the museum, where the exhibition Rooted in Change: DSM Art Collection from meeting room to museum is on display.
Reading together in silence
SCHUNCK opens the museum doors for a few hours of uninterrupted reading in silence. At the Silent Reading Party, you can immerse yourself in your book alongside others — no obligations, just sit, lie down, read, be. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to chat with fellow readers about your experiences.
Specially for the Rooted in Change exhibition, we’ve created a reading list with titles related to the themes of the exhibition. But feel free: bring The Lord of the Rings, the Old Testament, or any book you love. Anything goes, as long as you enjoy reading it.
As part of Heel Nederland Leest, the book Onder de paramariboom by Johan Fretz is available for free at the library throughout November.
