Chalk festival
Do you like being creative, using your imagination and, basically, just messing around with others? We are challenging everyone to create their own artwork from chalk, based on the work of artist Keith Haring.

On 13, 15 and 16 July, we will work with (pavement) chalk just like Keith Haring. We will be inspired by his drawings, only we will use the square as our canvas. We will provide the crayons, the music and some drinks. All you have to do is come along and join in. Everyone can join in, so use your imagination and do things you might never have done before!
We will be staging a square in three locations:
- Edition Hoensbroek, 13 July, Gebrookerplein Hoensbroek, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Edition Heerlen Centrum, 15 July, Bongerd and Pancratiusplein Heerlen, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Edition Heerlerheide, 16 July, Corneliusplein Heerlerheide, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Competition
During the edition on 16 July, on the Corneliusplein, you can just drop by to chalk, but you can also take part in a real chalk competition in which great prizes can be won. The competition is open to all children up to 12 years old. Would you like to take part in the chalk competition? Then sign up by sending an email to eddy.thonon@schunck.nl or be at the venue at 11:00 a.m. The starting gun will be fired at 11:30 a.m. and prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.
Participation is free and since COVID restrictions no longer apply, there is no need to register. So you can just come and participate!
