Cultura Nova: Chalking with Keith at KLEIN.BERLIJN

Klein.Berlijn, Heerlen's surprising pop-up cultural hotspot, returns to the Schelmenhofje during Cultura Nova. In cooperation with the theatre festival, pop stage NIEUWE NOR will ensure that from 27 August to 3 September the small square at Pancratiusstraat will be buzzing with free activities, such as music performances, poetry and readings.

During Cultura Nova, the Schelmenhofje in Heerlen will be as if you were in hip Berlin. The decoration, various activities and the mural 'L'étranger' by Os Gemeôs as an eye-catcher will give you a taste of the atmosphere of the many cultural havens in the German capital. Every day during Klein.Berlijn, there will be music and poetry performances on a different theme. This year, PANDA has once again invited word artists to perform at Klein.Berlijn. From young talents from Het Genootschap to even better known Limburg spoken word artists: they will all be there. Come and enjoy word art every evening between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.!

Thursday 1 September

In the afternoon we will be 'Chalking with Keith' + in the evening there will be a spectacular Pride Pop-up show (in cooperation with COC Limburg). Eline Willaert will provide the poetry.

In the afternoon, the youth can street-chalk at Klein.Berlijn, while DJ Dreyaz plays records related to Keith Haring's mixtapes.

In the evening, a spectacular Pride Pop-up show will take place under the title 'Love is Love'. Last year, COC and the PEP Foundation were already able to collaborate with Cultura Nova for the Pride Walk and Pride Show in the Spiegeltent. The PEP Foundation, led by founder Gigi Love, once again has the honour of organizing a show with drag, song and dance. COC and PEP Foundation stand for diversity and acceptance not only within the LGBT+ community but in the broad sense of the word. In other words, everyone is allowed to be who they want to be. They also offer local Limburg talent a stage. Berlin is also known for its diversity in artists and so will be the programme.

With a programme of Drag Queens, live singing, Burlesque and cabaret, they will entertain the audience for two hours. Participating artists are: Gigi Love, Wonderland Burlesque Madame Gisela, Sa Mara, Xophia von G. and White Canvas! Of course, there will also be time for a bit of poetry by Eline Willaert.
