The selection shows how the collection developed during the 1980s and 1990s. You’ll see works by artists who brought innovation to Dutch painting in this period, alongside pieces that were considered remarkable acquisitions for the collection at the time. These include a long-cherished painting by Karel Appel, the acquisition of a work by Marlene Dumas, and paintings that are characteristic of the painterly developments of that era.
