In the 1970s and 1980s, punk left its mark on walls across the Netherlands. A graffiti scene emerged from punk, squatting and football supporter culture, largely independently of American graffiti. Photos, self-published magazines and other material from the time remained hidden away in private archives for years.

This international conference brings that history to life. Hear stories from people who were part of the original scene, as well as researchers from the Netherlands and abroad. Watch rare archive films, discover remarkable books and explore new publications on punk graffiti.

The programme draws on three collections: the personal archive of punk pioneer Diana Ozon, the Dutch Graffiti Library and the Groningen graffiti archive of Stichting Kladmuur.

SCHUNCK and the Municipality of Heerlen are presenting this eleventh edition together with Unlock Bureau, which is developing the programme.

Visit The Tag Conference website for more information and details on how to attend and take part.
