The paintings, drawings, textile works and objects by Keetje Mans evoke a world in which the everyday and the fantastical flow into one another. A sense of tension runs through her work — between freedom and security, between wandering and coming home.

Mans creates narrative, otherworldly scenes that balance on the edge of dream, fear, fantasy and memory. What emerges is a dreamlike realm - a kind of in-between space - where a disorienting, boundless atmosphere prevails.
