From all submissions, an independent committee will select up to 100 works, which will be on display from 21 April to 17 May 2026 in the museum gallery of the iconic Glaspaleis.

40 Years of the museum

In 2026, it will be forty years since SCHUNCK Museum (formerly the Stadsgalerij), Heerlen’s museum for modern and contemporary art, first opened its doors to the public. To celebrate this anniversary, SCHUNCK Museum presents Passaasj Parkstad for the first time — an exhibition showcasing professional and amateur artists, young makers, designers, self-taught talents and hidden gems side by side.

An exhibition for 100 participants

With Passaasj Parkstad, SCHUNCK provides a platform for the region’s rich and diverse creative energy. For four decades, Heerlen has been home both to the museum and to countless artists from Heerlen, Parkstad and Limburg. To emphasize this sense of connection, the exhibition’s theme is “home.”
