Curator for a day is back
For the past few months, there has been a lot of curating at SCHUNCK going on again. A few weeks ago, in fact, a new season of Curator for a day started.
After previous successful editions with Parc Imstenrade (2020), Vrie-Art (2021), and last year's ‘PAND, it is now the turn of 'de Vrienden van SCHUNCK' to make a selection from the SCHUNCK collection.
Vrienden van SCHUNCK
The association Vrienden van SCHUNCK consists of a large group of enthusiastic members who support and want to promote culture and art in the broadest sense of the word. In the past, the group had a structure with branches in various separate art forms. Nowadays everything falls together under one heading: there is a focus on architecture and visual arts, music, dance and literature. So a local and artistic group, some of which has now dipped into the SCHUNCK collection.
About curator for a day
In Curator for a day, a group of people from the region are invited to set up their own exhibition with works from the SCHUNCK collection. This way, they get more insight into the process of curating and selecting - and everything that comes with it - and get to know the works from the collection better. Twelve participants from Vrienden van SCHUNCK participate in this edition.
Meanwhile, all meetings have been held; they got to know each other and the works from SCHUNCK. They also went through the planning and looked at what needs to be done in the run-up to their exhibition that will take place from mid-June onwards. Currently they are working on a gallery booklet, audience guidance, the layout, the opening and so on.
