New series Unforgettable Experiences with Art is about to begin
In November, SCHUNCK and Sevagram Verwenzorg will once again launch the special art project Unforgettable Experiences with Art. In this project, older adults living with dementia experience art together with their loved ones in a way that moves, connects, and enriches.
Experiencing and creating art
Six groups from Sevagram are taking part, each consisting of eight residents and their loved ones. Together, they will visit the exhibition Rooted in Change: Art collection DSM from meeting room to museum at SCHUNCK. After the museum visit, participants will get creative at their own location, guided by SCHUNCK workshop leaders. The artworks created will be presented on-site and later exhibited at SCHUNCK.
Art as a means of connection
The project offers older adults the opportunity to expand their world and connect with their loved ones in a new way. Art is used as a tool to recall memories, share emotions, and create something beautiful together.
“At first I thought, I can’t do that. But together with my daughter, I made a wonderful artwork. We laughed, talked, and enjoyed ourselves. It was a truly special experience,” said a previous participant.
Working together toward a dementia-friendly society
With this project, SCHUNCK and Sevagram Verwenzorg reaffirm their shared commitment to a dementia-friendly society — one that makes room for encounters, wonder, and connection.
