Located near Gérardchamps and slightly set back from the center of Verviers, "l'Île Adam" is currently an undeveloped area, occupied by shops, housing and workshops. Already benefiting from a strategic location and privileged access thanks to the railway station offering links to Liege and Brussels, the district's mobility will also be enhanced by soft mobility routes, reinforcing its connection to neighboring areas. The district is intended to become a hub of metropolitan attraction, with a multi-sports center, a functional multi-media district and a school complex, all of which will provide contemporary entertainment while enhancing the area's industrial-architectural heritage. The central terrace in the heart of the district, together with all the green spaces, will provide an oasis of freshness, increasing permeable surfaces to better manage rainwater and mitigate urban cyclones. At project level, an urban resilience strategy has been deployed to respond effectively to the challenges of climate change. Anchored in its industrial roots, this regenerated neighborhood is set for a sustainable future where quality of life, enriched by a valued heritage, can flourish in the face of climatic and social evolutions.
