The Heerlen Rooftop Project ‘Interweaving Green Rooftops’ is designed by Coenen Sättele Architecten.
The project is about two interweaving routings/trails that connect the highly attractive green stream valleys in the east and the west of Heerlen, as an impulse for a lively city centre. The goal is to bring the green inside the city through a modular and flexible structure, between the street level and the rooftops. It enables to develop public as well as individual environments for people together with people. The rooftops become an integral part of this 3-dimensional spatial structure filled with urban functions that will give the city an exciting boost. The totality becomes a dynamic, green and climate adaptive system.
