Situation: This project is located at the historical centre of Liege.

Program: It acts as a multi-media and multi purpose art centre.

Concept: The first idea of the concept is to place "Mikado" at the centre of a Euregio "network". To convey the culture and the inheritance of three large bordering countries which are Belgium, Holland and Germany.

For the Space: the idea is to place the main function (exhibition hall) on a "drill" of columns. This space configuration makes it possible to create a covered urban space which is accessible to everybody.

A kind of "urban village" which integrates between its columns a multitude of multi-purpose modules. Like:

Digi-boxes:satellite unities to inform, animate and expose.

Art centre:meeting point and a place to welcome road shows.

Auditorium:general-purpose space intended mainly for Young talents.

Town hall:a part of the “culture and tourism department of city”.

Exhibition hall:placed with 22 meters height, it offers a versatility of exposures and demonstrations on a surface of 2100 m².

Lounge Room:including the ruin of the cathedral, meeting, conferences and exposures will be able to occur there in a particular environment.

The final result is a «Cultural Factory", an enormous tool ready to promote the culture through Europe.
