Located near Seraing’s railway station, the project is part of a broader strategy of urban reconquest on a territory fragmented by industrial heritage and railway infrastructures. Its implantation takes advantage of existing voids and structures to restore legibility and accessibility. At the heart of the scheme, a pedestrian and cycling bridge connects the HF6 plateau to the city center and the RAVeL network, establishing a soft mobility axis that redefines urban and landscape continuities.

Around this backbone, three major interventions re-activate underused spaces. On the HF6 side, an industrial hall is converted into a brewery, creating an economic and social hub. Combining artisanal production, conviviality, and local identity, the hall preserves its metal structure while opening onto its surroundings. An exhibition route retraces the story of Seraing’s reconversion, turning the place into both productive and memorial site.

On the opposite side of the tracks, a new built front closes an urban block once fragmented by rail lines. By extending alignments and redefining boundaries, it articulates the relationship between housing fabric and infrastructure. The ensemble hosts varied housing typologies around a shared garden, fostering interaction and quality of life. At the corner, a neighborhood nursery is strategically positioned, providing an essential facility for families while integrating within the block. Its luminous interiors and protected courtyard create a safe, welcoming environment for children.

Finally, the former post office, a listed building with a generous hall, is reconverted into an exhibition space. Its luminous interior is complemented by a new public square that enhances accessibility and fosters cultural and civic animation.

The project thus combines heritage valorization, social dynamics, and urban transition. By weaving fragmented pieces of the city, it transforms a waiting territory into an active, shared, central place.
