The SCHUNCK Museum brochure gives you an impression of what to expect in the 2026/2027 season.

Season 2026/2027

In and from the Glaspaleis, encounters take shape. What emerges within the museum gains meaning in the city, and what grows in the city finds a frame here. The museum program moves with Heerlen and Parkstad, building on forty years of museum presence in the city.

As a museum for modern and contemporary art and architecture, SCHUNCK invests in the collection, which we share with the city, in research, and in exhibitions by artists and designers from near and far. The galleries, the Art Depot, and the public spaces together form the playing field.

Projects such as Passaasj Parkstad, Curator for a Day, and activities by the youth group Driver’s Seat show how different voices can coexist and strengthen one another. SCHUNCK is also active outside the city centre: ideas from the community garden and the neighbourhood camping in Heerlen-Noord find their way into the museum—and back out into the city again. With new editions of Frictions Festival and other events, SCHUNCK brings together diverse groups in and around the Glaspaleis.

Building on a solid foundation of forty years of museum activity, we continue to develop a cultural base for Parkstad: rooted in the region, open to exchange.
