Luc Laudy takes his visitors through the life of Warhol. He will do so on 11 January at SCHUNCK, but also at locations near you, such as on 8 December at Podium Babel in Sittard and on 16 January at HUB Kerkrade.
The former art academy teacher guides you through the life of Andy Warhol, starting not with Andy's birth, but earlier: when his parents emigrated to America. From this point, he leads you through art history, discussing Warhol's unique role in it. You'll gain a deeper understanding of Warhol's influence on the art world and be able to place it in context.
After the lecture, you'll understand why the corsets are displayed at SCHUNCK, why his films are shown, and what a time capsule is. Luc beautifully connects the exhibition Vanitas and sheds light not only on the colorful and glamorous side of Warhol but also on his darker side. This way, you'll gain a solid foundation that adds even more depth to your visit to the exhibition.
