For this edition of MODULE, SCHUNCK collaborates with Dean Kisters (Kerkrade, 1996) and Lily Peters (Heerlen, 1997): photographers and founders of Doka, a workspace and exhibition venue for analogue photography in Heerlen.

For MODULE #2, Dean and Lily roamed the streets of Heerlen by night, seeking out the places where graffiti writers usually move. These writers are drawn to locations where they can work undisturbed — places that remain unfamiliar to most of us. Follow their nocturnal journey along railway tracks, abandoned industrial sites, viaducts, wastelands, and tunnels in our post-industrial city.

Come and discover MODULE #2, where Kisters and Peters capture nocturnal Heerlen in images that reveal the city’s raw edges — a presentation that invites you to see the urban landscape with fresh eyes.

About MODULE

Together with Kool Cult and Robin Vermeulen, intendant-curator of art in public space in Heerlen, SCHUNCK is launching a new approach to working in the public realm. The project is part of ArtBase, a national pilot programme focused on strengthening regional contemporary art.

MODULE is a movable panel measuring approximately 3 by 8 metres, featuring (semi-)permanent artistic interventions - graffiti, street art, and other forms of independent, temporary visual language - visible in the city while preserving its transient character. Each edition presents new work by a different artist.
