The prize was first awarded in 1996 under the name Landgraaf Prize. Since then, the initiative has grown into an important incentive for young talent in the region. The Parkstad Limburg Prize builds a bridge between artists, businesses, government and the public.

For this edition, artists were invited to submit work. From all entries, a professional jury selected ten nominees. Their work is on view in this exhibition at SCHUNCK Museum.

On Sunday 24 January 2027, both the jury prize and the audience prize will be awarded. The exhibition will remain open for another three weeks afterwards.

On the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, SCHUNCK is also presenting work by a former winner of the Parkstad Limburg Prize in the Atrium.

More information is available at www.parkstadlimburgprijs.nl.

The exhibition is made possible with support from Stichting Promotie Limburgse Kunstenaars, the Municipality of Heerlen, the Province of Limburg, and the Mondriaan Fund.
