Architecture Day 2023

A theme that fits perfectly with Mecanoo Architects' new municipal offices, which will be festively opened this summer in August together with the newly renovated town hall. The underlying concept of the design stands for openness, accessibility and welcoming citizens, guests and employees.

The afternoon programme consists of a lecture by Mecanoo Architects in which the design process, the new working model and the connection of old and new will provide an interesting mix for a promising talk. A subsequent discussion on tradition, modernity and future orientation as well as tours of both the new building and the newly renovated Peutz Town Hall will round off this afternoon.

The tours during Architecture Day are sold out. You can register for one of the other guided tours the municipality is organising from 28 August to 3 September via its website.

To combine Architecture Day with the opening of the new municipal offices, Heerlen's Architecture Day will be moved to 27 August 2023, during Cultura Nova's city-making week, instead of the national date at the end of June.
