36th Euregional Prize for Architecture brings together emerging architectural talent in Liège

This autumn, the best graduation projects from the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion will once again take centre stage during the 36th edition of the Euregional Prize for Architecture (EAP). On Saturday, 14 November, the festive award ceremony will take place in Liège. Once again, the prize brings together emerging architects, educational institutions and professionals from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to celebrate the architecture of tomorrow.

The Euregional Prize for Architecture is awarded annually to the best graduation project from the five participating schools of architecture: RWTH Aachen, FH Aachen, Hasselt University, the University of Liège and the Academy of Architecture Maastricht. The prize offers young designers a platform at the start of their careers and encourages exchange between the architecture programmes within the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion. SCHUNCK has been organising the prize for more than thirty years.

This year's award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 14 November, at B7a – Large Amphitheatres on the Sart Tilman Campus of the University of Liège. During the evening, the nominated projects will be reviewed by an international jury, which will also announce the winners of the 36th edition. In addition, the EAP will once again present an accompanying programme featuring lectures, a workshop and a new edition of Dreaming Out Loud, SCHUNCK's cabinet series for emerging architects and artists. This year's edition will spotlight Brussels-based architect François Gena, who was awarded third prize at the Euregional Prize for Architecture in 2016. More information about the programme will be announced soon.

Workshop: Knowledge City Heerlen

In the lead-up to the award ceremony, the third EAP Workshop will take place in Heerlen this autumn, in collaboration with the New Regional Bauhaus. Students from the five participating schools of architecture will work together around the theme Knowledge City Heerlen. During the workshop, they will explore how architecture, knowledge and design can contribute to a resilient and inclusive city.
