Visual artists from Dutch and Belgian Limburg have until 31 March 2026 to register for the Parkstad Limburg Prize 2026 and the inspiring afternoon 'On Making a Living from Art – Deepen Your Practice'.

In November 2026, the anniversary exhibition of the Parkstad Limburg Prize will be on view in the SCHUNCK museum gallery. The winner will receive € 10,000 to invest in their artistic development. The award ceremony will take place on 23 January 2027 at SCHUNCK.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

  • are no older than 35 (born in 1990 or later);
  • have a connection to Dutch or Belgian Limburg;
  • work as a visual artist;
  • have completed a higher professional art education (or will graduate in 2026).

Nominated artists will take part in the exhibition at SCHUNCK from 15 November 2026 to 14 February 2027.

Saturday 11 April: On Making a Living from Art

On Saturday 11 April 2026, Stichting Promotie Limburgse Kunstenaars organises the free afternoon 'On Making a Living from Art – Deepen Your Practice at SCHUNCK'.

During this event, emerging and early-career artists will receive practical tools for building a sustainable professional practice. The programme includes a keynote by artist Niek Hendrix and speed dates with experts from the field, including representatives of the Mondriaan Fund, the Kunstenbond, the Jan van Eyck Academie, and various curators, gallery owners, and collectors.

The afternoon takes place from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at SCHUNCK in Heerlen and concludes with drinks.

Registration is open until 31 March via info@parkstadlimburgprijs.nl, stating ‘On Making a Living from Art’.

Exhibition at SCHUNCK

The eighth edition of the Parkstad Limburg Prize will be presented from 15 November 2026 in the SCHUNCK museum gallery. During the exhibition, visitors can discover the work of the nominated artists. In addition to the jury prize, an Audience Award will be presented at SCHUNCK on 23 January 2027.
