David Bade Beersdal Rennemig 1080

Third edition David Bade draws down Heerlen

In the third edition of David Bade draws down Heerlen, the artist invited residents from the Heerlen neighbourhoods of Beersdal/Rennemig to discuss options for the installation of permanent works of art in the public space.

Beersdal - Rennemig

From 28 September to 11 October 2014, David Bade worked on his third project in Heerlen. Through the medium of art, Bade consulted local residents in Beersdal (former mining neighbourhood) and Rennemig (a 1980s housing project) about a design for a permanent work of art. The work aimed to reflect the identity, history and future of these two neighbourhoods and the experiences of their residents.

The results of David Bade draws down Heerlen #3 were slowly but surely added to the artist’s installation in SCHUNCK’s store window, where all the works from Bade’s first and second editions were also put on show in late 2014.
