Financial support
Stichting Leergeld
Leergeld devotes itself to school going children aged 4 to 18 who, for financial reasons, cannot participate in activities that are normal for their peers. Would your child like to take music or dance lessons, but lack sufficient financial resources? Residents of a Parkstad municipality (Heerlen, Landgraaf, Kerkrade, Brunssum, Beekdaelen, Onderbanken, Simpelveld, Voerendaal) can apply for help from Leergeld Parkstad.
Go to the website of Leergeld Parkstad for more information or to apply for financial support.
Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur
No money to participate?
The Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur pays tuition fees for children and young people from families with little financial resources for e.g. music lessons, dance or other sports or creative classes.
Parents cannot apply themselves. Applications for a contribution are made by an intermediary: for example, a schoolteacher, community sports coach, social district team member or debt relief worker.
Fit en Fun
The ‘Fit en Fun’ scheme is for all Heerlen residents aged 18 or over who have a minimum income. The scheme is a contribution towards the cost of individual social, sporting and/or cultural activities.
Read more about the scheme here.
