Festive farewell concert of SCHUNCK teacher Hamid Motebassem, along with students and guest musicians.
After 22.5 years as a teacher of tar and setar at SCHUNCK Music and Dance, Hamid Motebassem is retiring. To mark this occasion, he will perform a festive farewell concert.
A musical evening full of tradition and ensemble play
Hamid will perform together with a specially assembled orchestra, consisting of students and guest musicians. A unique evening with traditional sounds, improvisation, and ensemble play.

Hamid Motebassem
Hamid Motebassem (1958, Mashhad) comes from a musical family and studied under various masters of the Persian instruments tar and setar. Over the years, he introduced Persian music to Heerlen, attracting students from both the Netherlands and abroad. After moving to Germany, he founded the now world-renowned Dastan Ensemble.
For more than twenty years, Hamid has organized special seminars for tar and setar players. He is also the musical director of the Mezrab Ensemble. He composes for the traditional Iranian orchestra and has released several CDs, including Bambad, Booye Norooz, and Donawazye.
