SCHUNCK celebrates 10 years with SCHUNCK Feestival

Ten years ago, SCHUNCK became an independent organisation and grew into one cultural home, bringing art, culture and people together across Heerlen and its neighbourhoods. We’re celebrating this anniversary on Saturday 21 November with SCHUNCK Feestival. From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, SCHUNCK Glaspaleis will be filled with art, music, stories, workshops and surprises as part of this open day. Admission is free.

Ten years of independent SCHUNCK

On 1 January 2016, Stichting SCHUNCK became an independent organisation. This gave SCHUNCK more room to set its own course and continue to develop. Over the past ten years, SCHUNCK has grown into a place where different forms of culture come together. The library has become much more than a place to borrow books, playing an important role in language, personal development and bringing people together. The museum presents exhibitions that draw visitors from Heerlen and far beyond to the Glaspaleis, while Music and Dance offers space to develop your skills, make music or dance together and perform on stage.

SCHUNCK is also present beyond the city centre, with four library branches in neighbourhoods across Heerlen. In this way, SCHUNCK has grown into a cultural organisation that brings people of different ages and backgrounds together.
