SCHUNCK presents a new edition of Dreaming Out Loud
'Dreaming Out Loud' puts young architects and visual artists from Limburg and the Euregio in the spotlight. Two to three times a year, a student or graduate talent from either the discipline of Architecture or Visual Arts from the Euregio is invited to prepare a presentation and showcase their work to the public.
The exhibition ‘Dreaming Out Loud’ offers them the opportunity not only to talk about architectural dreams and visions but also to reflect on their own work, gathering and organizing projects. From 11 October, it will be Johann Eckartz's turn.
Johann Eckartz
Johann Eckartz studied architecture in Cologne and at RWTH Aachen University, where he completed his master’s degree in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Anne-Julchen Bernhardt and Prof. Dr. Carolin Stapenhorst. His master’s thesis, titled ‘Creating Chorweiler’, was awarded the EAP prize in 2019. After gaining experience at various architectural firms during his studies, he has been working at the office of Prof. Wolfgang Zeh in Cologne since 2017 and will lead the firm alongside Prof. Zeh as a partner starting in the fall of 2024.
In addition to his professional work at the architectural firm, Johann Eckartz has taught at TH Cologne and Hochschule Bochum. Since 2020, he has been working as a research assistant at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, under the chair of Prof. Klaus Overmeyer. He looks forward to serving as a jury member for the 34th EAP prize, evaluating the work of young architects.
This new edition of Dreaming Out Loud will be on display free of charge from 11 October 2024 to 8 January 2025, on the first floor of SCHUNCK Glaspaleis.
