In The selection of Nieke Lemmens, she brings together works that are not usually displayed alongside one another. Her selection is guided by a fascination with light, color, and architecture, and the relationship between painting and space.

During her exploration of the depot, Lemmens was guided not only by individual objects but especially by the surprising connections between very different works. This creates a shared atmosphere, without a fixed narrative or single meaning.

“I was guided not only by the individual objects, but especially by the surprising connections that emerged between very different kinds of work.”
Nieke Lemmens

The presentation invites you to look with an open mind. The works do not fully reveal themselves and ask to be experienced again and again.

Featuring works by: Steven Aalders, Tim Ayres, Eli Content, Bart Domburg, Romy Finke, Daan van Golden, Benoît Hermans, Troy Lovegates, Navid Nuur, Dominique Panhuysen, Jan van der Ploeg, JCJ Vanderheyden, Roy Villevoye, and Evi Vingerling.

Abstract schilderij met een horizontale compositie: een groot lichtblauw vlak boven een zachtgrijs vlak, gescheiden door een subtiele, licht golvende lijn. Aan de linkerzijde loopt een smalle verticale zwarte strook langs de rand.

The Art Depot has three rooms with shelving, each with its own presentation. The display in the third room is curated by a different guest four times a year. After previous selections by Janna Navis, Life Cipher, Driver’s Seat, and Zorba Huisman, it is now Nieke Lemmens’ turn.
