SCHUNCK presents museum programme 2026/2027

The new SCHUNCK Museum brochure gives an impression of what to expect in the 2026/2027 season: from exhibitions and festivals to projects in and around the Glaspaleis.

With its 2026 and 2027 museum programme, SCHUNCK builds on forty years of museum history in Heerlen. As a museum for modern and contemporary art and architecture, SCHUNCK invests in the collection, in research, and in exhibitions by artists and designers from both nearby and further afield.

“Encounters take shape in and from the Glaspaleis,” says artistic director Fabian de Kloe. “Forty years of museum history in Heerlen form a solid foundation. Building on that experience, we continue to develop a cultural base for Parkstad: rooted in this region and open to exchange. What happens here moves with the city.”

Exhibitions, collections, and new perspectives

The programme brings together different voices that coexist and strengthen one another. In Passaasj Parkstad, residents of Heerlen, Parkstad, and Limburg collaborate on an exhibition in the museum gallery. With Curator for a Day, communities create their own exhibitions using works from the SCHUNCK collection. Within Driver’s Seat, young people develop projects from their own perspective.

Connected to the city

SCHUNCK is also active beyond the city centre. Ideas from the community garden and the neighbourhood camping initiative in Heerlen-Noord find their way into the museum — and back out into the city again. New editions of Frictions Festival and other festivals bring together diverse groups in and around the Glaspaleis.
